Katherine Nettles is finishing her senior year at UNCSA on the Frank H. Kenan scholarship, in the spring of 24. She will complete her BFA at 20, while concurrently dancing with Triad International Ballet for the 2023-2024 season. She began her dance training at Greensboro Ballet at the age of 3 1⁄2 and continued there until the age of 14, when she entered the UNCSA high school ballet program. She has attended various summer intensives, including Boca Ballet Theater, Carolina Ballet, Houston Ballet, ABT NY, Pennsylvania Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater.

Katherine most recently performed in Triad International Ballet’s production of Romeo and Juliet, and before that, Sleeping Beauty as Red Riding Hood and in their Gala in the North Carolina premiere of La Vivandiere. Some of her favorite roles include Princess Florine and Canary Fairy from Sleeping Beauty, The Firebird, Cupid from Don Q, and Columbine Doll, Clara, & Marzipan from The Nutcracker. She also performed in Balanchine’s Serenade, "Wondering On" by Stephanie Martinez, and "Viva Vivaldi" by Gerald Arpino. Katherine has appeared in three produced films: UNCSA’s Nutcracker, shown on PBS in 2022; Greensboro Ballet’s Nutcracker, filmed in 2021 and UNCSA film featuring her performance in Shostakovich by Dean Endalyn T. Outlaw in 2023. She participated in the competition held by the National Society of Arts and Letters, earning 2nd place in the Virginia/North Carolina Chapter in 2021. Katherine recently performed the role of Firebird in John Taras's Firebird.
